General Member Info
Note: All OSU Students can attend general club meetings without a club membership. Feel free to invite a friend!
To achieve Active Member status, you must pay dues of $20 for the entire year or $15 for one semester. To run for a position as a Pre-Vet Club Officer, you must have a minimum of 20 points and fill out an Officer Application.
Becoming a dues paying member allows you to earn points and gives you access to exclusive tutorials, tours, scholarships, hands-on experiences, social and philanthropy events, mock interviews, Pre-Vet Olympics, door prizes, Pre-Vet Committee membership, officer elections, submitting volunteer hours on our website (or CampusLink for OSU's C.O.R.D. program), and more. You can still participate in general club meetings as a non-member.
Students who earn the following distinctions will be honored at our annual banquet. Gold point members and officers will have their name and member status sent to OSU College of Veterinary Medicine.

We also give points for volunteer hours done outside of the Pre-Vet Club. Any other activities must be approved by the Pre-Vet Club Officers. To receive points for your volunteer activities through our club, please submit your volunteer hours through the following forms.

What happens if I cannot attend every meeting?
|
As a member of Pre-Vet Club, you are not required to attend a certain number of meetings or earn a certain number of points to maintain your membership. Although we would love for you to attend our meetings, we understand when things come up. Therefore, we have a point system to keep track of our members and their status within our club. As long as you pay dues ($20/per year, $15 per semester) you are eligible to be a member. You can only pay dues before or after our meetings! We no longer have our cubicle to hold office hours. The recommended deadline to pay dues is September 24, 2024 for the fall semester and February 18, 2025 for the spring semester.

How do I earn points without attending every meeting?
|
You are able to earn “points” through various club activities. Although you can earn points by attending the meetings, we host several other philanthropy, educational, and social events that you can attend to make up for missing a meeting. Additionally, you can gain points by volunteering with animals.
Earning points is an important part of our club due to the fact that we send each member's of Gold status to the vet school at the end of each year. A member must be at least a silver member to apply for an officer position in the spring semester. Finally, members of bronze status and above are eligible to apply for scholarships. Click here see the Pre-Vet Club point breakdown sheet. |
How do I pay dues?
|
Dues can be paid before or after general meetings.
For the Fall 2023 semester, we recommend that you pay dues by September 24, 2024 if you are a new member. For the Spring 2024 semester, we recommend that you pay dues by February 18, 2025 if you are a new member. Dues can only be paid in cash and check. |
